Before Spendesk, only a few credit cards were available for employees to make all their online payments, both for one-time purchases or monthly subscriptions. The problem? Employees would get blocked if the cards weren't available at the moment of their purchase.
Today, everyone uses virtual Spendesk cards for online payments and managers validate requests for their team members. “The product is simple and well-designed, and was quickly adopted by the teams. The Chrome extension was particularly popular as it gives you access to a virtual card without needing to leave the website,” explains Baptiste. “Everyone saves time and is more independent. It’s really fluid and we’ve already extended the system to our Spanish and German subsidiaries.”
Plastic Spendesk cards - more autonomy, fewer expense reports
Today, Getaround (ex-Drivy) uses real Mastercard® cards provided by Spendesk to manage expenses for their two office managers and their two installators. The latter are always on the move as they install Getaround Open technology in partner vehicles. Before using Spendesk cards, they often had to pay up front and fill in lengthy expense reports each month. Providing capped bank cards to use on the road was therefore an obvious choice for Baptiste.

Automatic receipt recovery and simplified accounting data entry
Before adopting Spendesk, Baptiste had to send all the receipts to his accountant every month who had to analyse every element and ask for missing invoices. “This time gap made accurate analysis impossible and expenses hard to control, especially as lots of receipts went missing along the way. With lost or forgotten receipts and employees on the road, it was difficult to collect all the necessary documents and impossible to know what we had spent at any given moment.”
Now that everyone uses Spendesk, the number of missing receipts has decreased significantly and is no longer a worry for Baptiste. “The automatic 'missing receipt' reminder from Spendesk gets people into the habit of uploading their proof of payment as soon as they receive it or taking a photo with their phone. I save numerous hours each month and can also visualize payments in real time,” he added.
"The Excel export function is also really helpful. I download and rework everything in CSV, and then upload it to Sage. This is amazing as I save huge amounts of time on data entry. Spendesk has enabled Drivy to implement fluid, structured expense processes as the company grows in France and internationally."
