From monolith to isolated services

As the company scale, we also need to scale our technical architecture. We are on a phase to split our monolithic codebase into distributed services that will provide smaller and faster deployments, more autonomy for the teams, and scalability.

Build the future of Banking

Within Spendesk, the banking team is in charge of creating the future of our banking system, one of the most critical parts of the software. They handle everything thing related to money: from generating virtual cards, to making wire transfers, or maintaining balance for customer accounts.

We regularly organize a two-day hackathon bringing engineering, product and design into the same room to create and hack great and creative ideas, but mostly to spend a fun time with teammates you are not used to work with on a daily basis!

Mutlidisciplinary Squads

Each squad is composed of a group of talented individuals with different skill sets (Engineers, Product Manager, Product Designer, Data Scientists, ...) to ensure global success.

Everyone contributes to the solutions definitions: from product aspects to technical choices and architecture.

Ceremonies

We are working with 2-week sprints including: daily standups, biweekly demo/retro, and a sprint planning. Every person inside the squad is actor of these ceremonies making collaboration and ownership at the heart of each project.

Cross-squads collaboration

Alongside product squads, we also have technical crews: a cross-functional group of people from different squads that collaborate together to improve the tools and guidelines relative to a specific technical scope.

They are driven by a mission and they are responsible to make technical decisions, in their scope, on behalf of the entire Engineering & Data team.
