“With our fully managed service we have to make a lot of purchases for our hosts - anything from lightbulbs, to mattresses, to electricity meter top-ups. Prior to Spendesk, this was mostly administered through employee expense claims. This was not very popular because, even with weekly expense payment runs, with the bigger purchases it could mean that people could end up out of pocket for a number of days. The other issue with this was the fact that expense claims on our accounting system do not allow you to assign the purchase to a customer - they have to be created as bills. This could cause some confusion and process slippage, especially among new joiners."
